This Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development case study project compiles exemplar cases from five sub-Saharan African universities: Ashesi in Ghana, Strathmore in Kenya, Bahir Dar and Makerere in East Africa, and Stellenbosch in South Africa. Commissioned by The Education Collaborative at Ashesi University, it draws on the D3 conceptual framework and internal entrepreneurship education ecosystem model to examine how each institution builds an entrepreneurial ecosystem through venture incubation, curriculum reform, research linkages, leadership and visioning, industry and funding partnerships, and financing mechanisms. Each case outlines practices, challenges, successes, and lessons for other universities.
