At The Education Collaborative, meaningful engagements lead to tangible, transformative outcomes. Building Momentum and Showcasing Exemplars
Phase Two of our ten-year strategy—Member Growth and Exemplar Development—has focused on expanding the reach and capacity of our regional hubs, strengthening cross-institutional engagement, and building a robust communications platform to share our collective progress.

With the East Africa Hub firmly established, the West Africa Hub is gaining momentum through deepening inter-institutional collaboration and engagement, while early formation activities in the Southern Africa Hub are underway, with promising interest from institutions eager to connect and grow.

The network is now 46-member strong and engaging over 500 institutions. In the last two years, we have amplified our visibility in the sector, responding to invitations to present our work at leading conferences across the continent. Our presentations have spotlighted themes such as career development in higher education, institutional transformation, and employability strategies.

These engagements reflect a growing recognition of The Education Collaborative’s role as a thought leader in the space. Alongside expanded engagement, we have begun to formalize and disseminate our learnings through a growing portfolio of practical tools, including guidebooks, toolkits, research papers, and metric tools. These resources capture tested models and proven practices from our network and offer institutions across Africa frameworks to guide their own transformation journeys.

This second edition of the Impact Stories Publication reflects this evolution. Within its pages, you will find stories of progress, commitment, and innovation from institutions across our network. You will read reflections from institutional leaders who are advancing change and scaling solutions. You will also encounter curated examples of best practices that others can learn from and adapt within their own contexts.

Looking ahead to Phase Three, which begins in 2026, our focus will be centered on deepening engagement and value for exemplar members and amplifying our unified voice. We aim to grow partnerships that bring the evidence of our outcomes to the global stage unto policy and research platforms. This phase will see a deliberate emphasis on documenting our evidence base and producing policy briefs, research summaries, and institutional case studies to support broader adoption of successful models.

We will also focus more on translating the energies and dedication of our large base of individual champions to strengthen institutional committments. As our network grows stronger, we are ready to raise our global profile and establish The Education Collaborative as a leading voice in improving higher education across Africa. The stories in this edition show what can happen when institutions work together and stay committed to making a difference.
