Higher education leaders, faculty, staff, policymakers, and industry partners from across East Africa will gather in Nairobi for the 2026 East Africa Hub Convening. Together, they will reflect on shared priorities and exchange student-centered approaches to building sustainable, technology-enabled higher education systems.
Who we are
We are a network of African universities strengthening higher education from within. We focus on how students are prepared for impactful careers, how ethical leadership is developed, and how teaching and research improve. We build and share proven approaches so that progress at one institution benefits many others.
The possibility is bigger than any one campus
A career center that doubles graduate employment. A teaching approach that keeps a 400-student lecture hall engaged. Breakthroughs like these are real, but too often they stay on the single campus that created them.
Meanwhile, Africa’s student population is on track to reach tens of millions, and no university can meet that demand alone. That’s why we connect institutions into a network where what works in one place can take root in many, and good ideas can spread faster.

A Learning Visit That is Reshaping How 32,000 students Are Supported
After mentoring visits with Ashesi, the University of Rwanda redesigned its career and academic support systems through the network’s Systems Change Program. The redesign now affects a full undergraduate cohort.
